Inter are through to the semifinal of the Coppa Italia after sweeping aside José Mourinho’s Roma by 2-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan’s San Siro district.

The Nerazzurri got off to a dream start when Ivan Perisic’s cross found Edin Dzeko who volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

In the second half Roma started better and were unlucky not to score when Handanovic’s mistakes almost gifted the Giallorossi a goal.

That is until Alexis Sanchez set the San Siro alight with a rocket that was worth the admission price alone, 2-0 and game over.

Samir Handanovic – 5: Biggest liability at Inter right now. Dreadful decision-making in rushing out and when trying to catch crosses where Inter lucky not to concede.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6,5: Stable performance by the Nerazzurri’s own Spider-Man. Solid defensively, especially in the air. Looks to be in good form, bodes well.

Milan Skriniar – 7: Saved at least 1 goal after Handanovic was all over the place. Makes few mistakes but makes up for those with grit and determination.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: Forced to come off due to what looked like an ankle injury in the 44th minute but did well defensively before then winning free-kicks.

Matteo Darmian – 6,5: Decent outing by the utility man in both phases of the game. Looked more concentrated and physically fresher than in recent matches.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6,5: Never has a bad game and tonight was no exception where he dictates Inter’s midfield but was very lucky not to receive 2 yellow cards.

Arturo Vidal – 6: Rarely offers anything in attack anymore but put in a shift of work defensively helping Inter’s midfield to control possession of the ball.

Nicolo Barella – 6,5: Good game by the Inter’s midfield dynamo who looks to getting back into his best form. Unlucky not to score a screamer hitting the bar.

Ivan Perisic – 7: Another outstanding performance by the Croatian veteran who barely puts a foot wrong. Got an assist when crossing Dzeko for opener. Another MOTM performance.

Alexis Sanchez – 7: His overall performance doesn’t warrant higher than a 6 but scored a screamer not many players in the world are able to score.

Edin Dzeko – 6,5: Scored a beautiful volley in the 2nd minute but didn’t offer much after that offensively whilst working hard defensively as per usual.

Stefan de Vrij – 6,5: Replaced the injured Bastoni before half-time and did well dealing with Roma’s attackers. Didn’t look to be affected by derby mistake.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Came on for Edin Dzeko in the 75th minute & had one or two chances which he squandered. Needs a goal to get his confidence back up.

Hakan Calhanoglu – N/A: Was brought on for Nicolo Barella in 84th minute and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Matias Vecino – N/A: Was brought on for Arturo Vidal in 84th minute and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Denzel Dumfries – N/A: Was brought on for Ivan Perisic in 84th minute and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Simone Inzaghi – 6,5: Got the line-up spot on as well as his approach throughout the game including the substitutions which has been a talking point.

Marco Di Bello – 5: Very inconsistent throughout. His incompetence benefited Inter this time as Brozovic should’ve been booked twice. Not good enough.

Inter – 6: An OK to decent as well as a controlled performance throughout not risking much as well as not spending a lot of energy in doing so.
