Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is glad to have seen his side bounce back with a Coppa Italia win over Roma as they head into further hugely significant matches in their season.

Speaking to InterTV after their 2-0 win over the Giallorossi, the coach made clear that the team are ready to face Napoli in Serie A and then Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri faced one big disappointment by losing to AC Milan in the derby in their first match back from the international break, before reasserting themselves with a win against Roma to get to the Coppa Italia semi-finals.

On Saturday, the Nerazzurri face a massive head-to-head clash with Napoli in a Serie A title race which has tightened following their defeat against Milan, and then they face Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League round of sixteen tie.

Inzaghi is confident about his team’s preparations for those matches, stating that “Mentally and physically we’re well-prepared, apart from the two different results I think the two performances against Milan and Roma were both good.”

“We have some injuries and suspensions,” he added, “but we have to keep moving forward in this direction.”

Of the win over the Giallorossi, the coach reflected that “It was an important match for us after the one on Saturday, the guys did very well, they managed the game well right from the start.”

“It was a match that required concentration and technical quality,” he went on, “we made it to the semi-finals and we will face them later.”

Of the rotations he made to his team prior to the match, Inzaghi said that “I’m lucky enough to be able to alternate players, I made some changes but they all gave excellent responses.”

“Now we will have some problems away to Napoli due to the suspension of Bastoni, who also picked up an injury,” he went on. “We will have to try to prepare to be at our best.”
