Inter are nearing a complete agreement with Marcelo Brozovic on a new contract past the summer.

This according to Sky Sport journalist Matteo Barzaghi, who reported on his Twitter account that the Nerazzurri and the midfielder have a few more final details to work out before he signs his extension and the club officially announce it.

Inter have been in talks with Brozovic’s representatives since around the middle of November on getting an extension worked out, with renewing past the end of June when his current deal expires a priority.

Not much is left to be worked out in the terms of the contract, but as Barzahi clarified, the deal is not completely done and there are still a few details left.

Once the player and club agree the final details, then it is expected that he will sign the new deal taking past the end of this season, an important matter given the 29-year-old’s importance to the team on the pitch.

For all those asking me when Brozovic’s renewal will be made official,” Barzaghi wrote, “first the two parties (however close) need to find an agreement and sign the contract. At some point then, there will be an official announcement.”

He went on that “In case some are unable to understand, I’ll clarify. Many people have asked me when the renewal of Brozovic’s contract will be made official, because they think that a final agreement has already been found.”

“This is not true,” he clarified, “at least not yet. This final details and his signature are missing.”
