Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga feels that the Nerazzurri came out with an intense attacking attitude and showed their desire to make a statement with a win against Roma yesterday evening.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, via FCInterNews, the former keeper hailed his old side for coming out of the traps to break down the Giallorossi and score to put the game to bed.

Inter had been burned by a somewhat circumspect tactical approach in their derby loss to AC Milan over the weekend, especially in the second half as they eased off and tried to see out the game by slowing down the tempo.

Against the Giallorossi, on the other hand, Inter were aggressive virtually from the first minute, and they were quickly rewarded for their proactive attitude with an early goal by Edin Dzeko against his old side.

Zenga analyzed the match, stating that “I was at the stadium, I wanted to see the team live because you have a different perception compared to TV.”

“I was eager to see their reaction to the defeat in the derby, and Inter immediately showed a ruthless desire to attack and to win,” he said.

“They controlled the match,” he went on, “they created several chances. Right away they put together a good passing move and Dzeko finished like a true centre-forward.”

“I wonder if he had played more in that position in the derby if maybe he would have also scored in that game as well,” he pondered about Dzeko.

“Now they travel to face Napoli,” he went on, “the opponent has a considerable advantage because they’ve gotten all week to train and are getting Anguissa and Koulibaly back.”

He predicted that “Saturday will be a wonderful match, between two teams playing great football. It will be really enjoyable to watch.”
