Inter forward Joaquin Correa has said that Simone Inzaghi lets him be himself which is very important for his development, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during another instalment of DAZN’s Careers series, via FCInter1908, Joaquin Correa opened up about his relationship with Simone Inzaghi who he has worked with for many years now.

He recalled the feeling of winning the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia with Simone Inzaghi when the pair were together at Lazio and went on today that the coach lets him play his own game and be himself.

“When we won the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia with Lazio it was great, we had already won the Italian Cup: we were also fighting for the Scudetto. Then we stopped for the lockdown, but the memories are beautiful.

“He lets me play my football, he cares a lot about the defensive phase and he wants us attackers to always stay on track: he always asks me to bet, I like him because he lets me be myself.”

Joaquin Correa is not Inter’s only Argentinian striker. He is very close friends with Lautaro Martinez due to their time together for the national team and now that friendship has increased as they are together at Inter.

“It’s great to play with him, we have a great relationship: it’s important to be happy. It helps us a lot to play together with Inter and in the national team, we both want to win.”

Joaquin Correa says he has dremaed of playing for Inter since he was very young and he has to make sure he now keeps his feet on the ground.

“I was a kid who had the dream of being able to come to Inter, it didn’t happen: then with my efforts I found myself here, now I’m a man with experience. The photo with Zanetti makes me keep my feet on the ground because I was dreaming, now that I’m here I appreciate it more.

“Did I close a circle? You can write many things: it was a starting point for a dream, it’s nice to look back but I always think about the future.”
