Football agent Oscar Damiani has suggested that Andrei Radu’s ability scares Samir Handanovic and that is why he did not suggest that he play in the Coppa Italia, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by FCInternews, the agent felt very strongly that Andrei Radu should have been picked to play against AS Roma in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night as he played in the previous round against Empoli, his only game of the season so far.
Oscar Damiani thinks that Samir Handanovic could have said that Andrei Radu should play the cup game, but perhaps he did not want to risk losing his place for the league games.
“We cannot always be silent, if we are not happy with the situation, it is right to express our point of view. I think Handanovic himself could have said: ‘Let Radu play’.
“The Slovenian’s latest performances were not among the best, perhaps Andrei Radu’s skill is also scary for the Nerazzurri’s number one.
“We are disappointed, but above all the boy, who always trains flawlessly. At Inter everyone always compliments him. In the Italian Cup against Roma he could have shown his qualities, but it was not like that.
“Despite having played well against Empoli, the club and Inzaghi chose Handanovic. For me it was logical and right that Radu should play. There will be a lot of matches next month.
Oscar Damiani points out that if Samir Handanovic were to get an injury in the next few weeks, Inter will have to use a goalkeeper who has played one game all season.
“If the Slovenian gets injured, you will have a player who has played little or nothing. I respect Handanovic, he’s a great goalkeeper. But I think he could have left room for the second goalkeeper.”
Oscar Damiani then targeted Andre Onana who is set to join Inter at the end of this season. He feels that the Cameroonian goalkeeper is not as impressive as many believe.
“He doesn’t seem like a phenomenon to me, he showed himself in the Africa Cup. I think Radu has the ability to play for Inter and in a big club. But if they don’t believe in him…
