Former Napoli coach Renzo Ulivieri has said that Luciano Spalletti’s work in developing Marcelo Brozovic is still appreciated today, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Renzo Ulivieri discussed the topic of whether Luciano Spalletti’s work as Inter boss in the past can still be seen in the current Inter team.

He said that every coach has their own influence on the team but the work that Luciano Spalletti did in helping Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic become a key player in midfield is still appreciated by many.

“The Nerazzurri develop a different type of game than before. So every coach puts something of his own into it. Of course, on Brozovic and his growth in directing, Luciano’s work is still appreciated.”

He went on to discuss the Scudetto race which is being mainly contested by Inter, Napoli, and AC Milan. Renzo Ulivieri is strong of the opinion that it will be the Azzurri that will lift the title in May.

“I am convinced of it. In terms of forces on the pitch with the Milanese, they are more or less the same. But with the full staff, Spalletti’s team gives me that feeling of starting the championship. They can win them all. And since they already know how to do it the group has the right self-esteem.”

Inter will travel to Campania to face Napoli on Saturday evening in a huge game for the title race.
