Former Napoli defender Ruud Krol has said that the title race will be completely open again if Napoli beat Inter on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.
Speaking during an interview with Vikonos Web Radio, via FCInter1908, the former Dutch defender explained that the race will be back on for the Scudetto of Napoli win tomorrow and said the credit for that falls to the entire team.
“If Napoli win, the championship is totally reopened. The Azzurri are the best defence in the league, but the credit goes to everyone, even the forwards who help by folding the rest of the team.”
He also said that he is confident that the Azzurri will bring home the Scudetto because they play the best football in Serie A and have overcome a tough period of injuries and absentees due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I hope that Napoli will finally be able to bring home the Scudetto. I believe they will. I am confident also because in my opinion, they play the best football in Serie A.
“The team has overcome a difficult period, between injuries and Covid they have had a couple of problematic months and now has had a series of fundamental victories.”
The match against Napoli will take place at 18:00 local time on Saturday at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Should Napoli take all three points, they will move two points ahead of Inter but the Nerazzurri will have a game in hand.
