Federico Dimarco is the favourite to replace Alessandro Bastoni in the inter lineup when the Nerazzurri face Napoli on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport, via FCInternews, Alessandro Bastoni will be both injured and suspended for the game against Napoli tomorrow evening and Simone Inzaghi must choose who should replace him in the back three.

It had seemed very likely that Danilo D’Ambrosio would get the nod as he is the most experienced possible replacement.

New reports suggest that it will actually be Federico Dimarco meaning that he can go straight into the left-hand side of the back three rather than Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij being reshuffled to accommodate Danilo D’Ambrosio who would need to play on the right.

This is the position that Inter see as Federico Dimarco’s long term role so it is a good opportunity to use him there.
