Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni is recovering well and is aiming to be fit for the Champions League match against Liverpool next week, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the pain that the Italian defender is feeling in his ankle is significantly less severe than it was earlier in the week.
This is a positive sign for Simone Inzaghi who will be desperate to have one of his best defenders available to face one of the best attacking teams in Europe when Liverpool visit San Siro on Wednesday night next week.
The ankle injury was picked up during the 2-0 Coppa Italia win over AS Roma on Tuesday night but the player was going to be suspended for tomorrow’s match against Napoli anyway.
It is likely that either Danilo D’Ambrosio or Matteo Darmian will come into the back three for the game against the Azzurri.
