Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that the likes of Inter, AC Milan and Napoli are too many points ahead of them now in Serie A, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media yesterday.
Speaking during an interview with Sport Mediaset after the 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia quarter-final, via FCInter1908, the Bianconeri coach took stock of their position in the league table.
He pointed out that should Inter win their game in hand, Juventus will be 11 points behind them as well as a big gap behind the chasing Napoli and AC Milan.
He feels that these gaps are just too big for Juventus to make up now even if they are in good form and have new players performing well.
“Scudetto? We are potentially 11 points behind Inter, seven behind AC Milan and Napoli. The others are currently out of range for points.”
Inter will be hoping to move further ahead of Juventus by beating Napoli in Campania on Saturday evening, a game with a huge effect on the title race.
