Napoli winger Matteo Politano has said that on Saturday his teammates will be playing for a large part of their future, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via FCInternews, Matteo Politano explained that he and his teammates are here to win the Scudetto and the game on Saturday is a big part of their efforts to win the title.

“We are here for the Scudetto, on Saturday against Inter we will play a large part of our future.”

He continued to say that Napoli must focus on themselves ahead of an important match against the team who are first in the standings. He also said they must not be afraid to talk about the Scudetto.

“More than Inzaghi’s team we have to think of ourselves, we have many challenging matches, a victory would bring a lot of enthusiasm. An important match against the first in the standings awaits us.

“Don’t be afraid to say the word Scudetto, but we have to prove it on the pitch, not in words. I try to do my best with the Napoli shirt, hoping that then the call from the coach will arrive.”

Despite the confident speech, it is clear that the former Inter winger has admiration for what Simone Inzaghi has done with the team this season.

He referenced the fact that the coach had to deal with the loss of multiple important players before the season but is still top of the league.

“They are two very strong teams, even last year’s team had predefined schemes and was always difficult to face because they defended well.

“Inzaghi is doing very well, despite having lost 2- 3 important players he is proving to be a great coach. Inter play very well and are first with merit.”
