Sampdoria President Marco Lanna has said that Sampdoria hounded Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi in their efforts to get him to join the club on loan in January, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during broadcast of Primocanale aired yesterday evening, via FCInternews, Marco Lanna explained how hard the club worked to get Stefano Sensi to join them on loan for the rest of the season.

He even admitted to getting Italian National Team boss Roberto Mancini to call the player and convince him to make the move so that he can play regular football and earn his place in the national team.

“We ganged up on him him [laughs]. I asked Roberto Mancini to call Sensi.”

He then explained that the player was convinced and happy to make the move and that he has a good relationship with Inter sporting CEO Beppe Marotta which made the whole operation much easier.

“The player was convinced, we did a fine job. He was very happy to come and Inter were very correct, we have an excellent relationship with Beppe Marotta, it was very good.”

The move that Stefano Sensi made prompted Inter to sign Felipe Caicedo on loan from Genoa.
