Former Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has said that Alexis Sanchez will be able to make an impact from the bench against Napoli on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport Italia, via FCInternews, Andrea Stramaccioni explained that Lautaro Martinez will be more suitable for the match against the Azzurri but Alexis Sanchez will have his say from the bench.

“I think Lautaro may be more suitable for this match, also because Sanchez can have an impact away from home even starting from the bench. I see Lautaro as a starting point and Sanchez ready to take over.”

He also explained that this match could be a great test for Inter given the form of the two teams. He said: “I think it is a great test for Inter, also because Spalletti brings Napoli to this match with a certain attitude. Inter come from a lost derby and a second defeat could be a bad blow.”

There is a chance that Kalidou Koulibaly will make his return for Napoli in the match against Inter after winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal last weekend.

Andrea Stramaccioni feels that the centre back may be too tired to have any part in the match given the physical demands of that tournament and the flight back from West Africa.

“Koulibaly is Koulibaly, but these are delicate situations. The Africa Cup of Nations is particularly exhausting because of the low quality pitches and the travelling, so I believe Spalletti still wants to decide.

“Obviously if there is a chance to have him on the pitch Koulibaly there will be.”
