Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries feels that a draw was an accurate reflection of play in the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Napoli in Serie A this evening.

Speaking to InterTV the Dutchman emphasized that both sides deserved to share the points and also looked ahead to Wednesday’s massive Champions League clash with Liverpool.

Inter were rocked at the beginning of the match, with the Partenopei getting off to a very fast start and going a goal up from the penalty spot within the first few minutes.

For much of the first half, it looked to be Napoli who were more in control, while the Nerazzurri struggled to create any chances to equalize.

However, Inter’s equalizing goal came just a couple minutes into the first half, and from then on they looked much more comfortable and increasingly pinned the Partenopei back towards the end of the match.

Dumfries was happy with the team’s second half comeback, calling it “An excellent response. The first half was not the best but then we changed things around in the second half.”

“It can happen that we don’t start very well,” the Dutchman added, “but the important thing is to straighten it out.”

Of the round of sixteen clash with Liverpool over the week, he said that “The Champions League is one of our goals We must recover and then move on to Liverpool.”
