Inter’s Serie A clash with Napoli this evening will see the strongest attack in the division, the Nerazzurri’s, come up against the the most formidable defense in the form of the Partenopei.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who also argue that Nerazzurri striker Lautaro Martinez must step up and find his best form for this match.

The Nerazzurri’s 54 goals scored so far this season in Serie A make them the most prolific team in front of goal in the Italian top flight.

Meanwhile, their opposition Napoli have conceded just sixteen goals so far this season, which not only makes them the tightest defense in Serie A, but the second-best in all the top European leagues behind only Manchester City.

Inter scored three goals in their win over the Partenopei in November, but they will know that this is no guarantee that they will get any joy this evening and they must be at their best to penetrate this stingy defense.

Martinez could be the key player for unlocking Napoli’s defense, with the Argentine expected to start in attack.

The 24-year-old has not been in the best of form since the return from the winter break in January, but he comes up against a team he’s scored against four times in his Inter career.

This makes the Partenopei second to only Cagliari, against whom Martinez has scored six time, among the striker’s favourite opponents, and he will be targeting having a significant impact in this massive head-to-head clash.
