Inter managed to draw 1-1 away against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples in the Serie A.

The Nerazzurri’s first half was poor embodied by Stefan de Vrij  who gifted a penalty unnecessarily which Lorenzo Insigne converted.

In the second half Inter fought back and equalized via Edin Dzeko and controlled the midfield and dictated the tempo and could have won the match with a bit more luck.

Samir Handanovic – 7: In the first half Samir didn’t inspire confidence. Made crucial saves in the second half to ensure Inter didn’t suffer another defeat. Great game. Man of the match.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Made one major mistake in each half and thankfully that didn’t cost a goal. Not his best performance but he was still Inter’s best defender.

Stefan De Vrij – 5: It’s OK to get beaten sometimes but it’s not OK to get the basics wrong game after game. Raised his game slightly but he is in clear decline.

Federico Dimarco – 5.5: Spent way too much time attacking when Inter and De Vrij actually needed defensive cover. Couldn’t make a telling contribution anywhere.

Denzel Dumfries – 6.5: Denzel looked in form but his decision making still lets him down. The only player who constantly troubled the opponent for 90 minutes.

Nicolo Barella – 5.5: Looked lost in the chaos in midfield in the first half. Made simple mistakes that are very rare. The week off should do him good.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6 : Brozo took 20 minutes to understand that he needed to help the defence a little more. Raised his level as the game went, still not enough.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 5.5: When things don’t click, Hakan is unwatchable. As Inter gained control of the game he looked much better but was too shy to take a shot.

Ivan Perisic – 6: Got behind the Napoli defence a couple of times but could not fashion out quality chances. Ran a lot as Dimarco left a lot of space to cover.

Edin Dzeko – 6.5: Edin did not press the Napoli defence in the first half, and it created an imbalance. In the 2nd half however, he harried them after scoring.

Lautaro Martinez – 6.5: Ran for 2 players, especially in the first half and chased down what he could. Delivered a fantastic cross that led to the 2nd goal. Well done.

Alexis Sanchez – N/A: Came on too late to make an impact. Looked up for the game and in the kind of form he is in, all it takes is one chance. Starts vs Liverpool?

Arturo Vidal – N/A: Just like his fellow Chilean, Vidal came on a bit too late. Did not have much work to do as Inter were in control. Needs some gametime.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – N/A: Last throw of the dice by Simone to take advantage of corners and set pieces. The ball just didn’t reach or drop for him in the Napoli box.

Massimiliano Farris – 6: The starting 11 and the mentality did not look good after Inter conceded so early in the game. Brilliant half time team talk to turn it around

Daniele Doveri – 6.5: Got all major decisions right. Maybe gave away too many soft yellow cards but this game is further proof that Doveri is the best in Serie A.

Inter – 6: A very big second half performance was needed after the worst 45 minutes of the season. The team banded together and showed their class.
