Alexis Sanchez could start for Inter in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Liverpool, and is currently the favourite to do so.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Chilean could overtake Lautaro Martinez in attack in the starting lineup for the round of sixteen clash.
Sanchez has been in good form for the Nerazzurri over the past few weeks, including scoring vital goals, and head coach Simone Inzaghi could decide to put his faith in the 33-year-old against the Reds.
The coach is yet to fully make up his mind on who to start in attack and the next few days of training will be decisive, but right now it is Sanchez who appears to be in pole position.
Meanwhile, fellow Chilean Arturo Vidal is currently the favourite to start in midfield in place of the suspended Nicolo Barella, although the coach will have to find a way to make sure his team are not too susceptible to Liverpool’s pace on the counter.
