Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that it could prove to be very important that Inter have only one top side left to play in their Serie A campaign.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Condo emphasized that the Nerazzurri could have the advantage of only facing Juventus in their Scudetto pursuit while their major rivals all have to face each other.

The Nerazzurri earned a point away to Napoli, not quite the result that they wanted but an important point to show that they could come back in a difficult match and also a point which ensured that they did not slip too much following defeat in the derby last weekend.

Now, the Nerazzurri are still a point ahead of the Partenopei, though they could fall behind AC Milan should the Rossoneri beat Sampdoria tomorrow, albeit having a game in hand on their city rivals.

Inter will know that their fate is still in their hands, and could take heart from the fact that they’ve gotten all of Atalanta, Milan, and Napoli out of the way.

“There are three things to say about Inter,” Scaroni said, “firstly, that tomorrow Milan can go top of the table with a win over Sampdoria; secondly, Inter have the game in hand against Bologna in their pockets.”

“Thirdly, after this match, Inzaghi’s team are left with only Juventus as direct rivals who they still have to play,” he added. “The appeals for the match against Bologna should be sped up.”
