Former AC Milan head coach Fabio Capello feels that Inter have the physical condition and technical quality to make them the best team in Italian football.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the former coach highlighted the Nerazzurri’s midfield strength in particular as an area where they have more to them than their major rivals.

Inter still have to fend off the close competition of AC Milan and Napoli for the Serie A title, while Atalanta and Juventus are still hovering behind the leading trio in the picture.

However, the Nerazzurri will have to back their quality as sufficient to finish top of the pile in Italy, and Capello feels that they do have something more than their major rivals.

He brought up both the Nerazzurri’s physicality and also their quality in the centre of the pitch, and mentioned a few players in particular as impressing him recently.

“Looking at Perisic, we’ve never seen him like this,” he said. “If he plays vertically, Liverpool will have big problems defending.”

“The only drawback of Inter’s defense is that they lack some pace,” he added. “Inter have the best midfield in Italy. I thought Napoli could stop Inter, but there is too much difference between them.”
