Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has shown positive signs that he could be available for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash with Liverpool on Wednesday.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 22-year-old trained on the pitch as part of his recovery program today and that optimism is growing that he could be available to face the Reds.
Bastoni has been working to return from the ankle injury that he picked up against Roma as soon as possible, and has been working on a personalized recovery program in the hopes that he can be back for Wednesday.
During yesterday’s session, the defender was able to work on the pitch even though he is not yet ready to complete a regular training session.
It will remain to be seen based on the defender’s recovery over the next two days whether he will be ready to come back for the Champions League round of sixteen first leg match.
