Inter’s Serie A clash away to Bologna will go ahead, after the Italian FA’s Court of Appeals officially denied the Nerazzurri’s appeal to have it ruled as an automatic 3-0 win in their favour.
This was the ruling by the FIGC’s Court of Appeals, via Calcio e Finanza, who ruled that the Serie A clash which was not played on January 6 will be postponed rather than outright handed to as a 3-0 win to Inter.
Inter travelled to Emilia-Romagna on January 6 to face Bologna, but the Rossoblu were unable to show up for the fixture due to an order from their regional health authority which ruled that they could not train or play due to the number of COVID cases in their squad.
It was not initially clear what the outcome of the events would ultimately be, but the Italian FA ruled that that match will be played at a later date as Bologna had a valid reason not to attend the stadium considering the health order.
The Nerazzurri appealed this decision and asked for the match to instead be ruled to have been forfeited by Bologna and awarded as a 3-0 win to Inter.
However, this appeal has been denied and so the match will go ahead, though it remains to be seen what date it is scheduled for.
