Inter-owned Empoli striker Andrea Pinamonti hopes to soon play for a top-level club, either returning to Inter or going elsewhere.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the 22-year-old emphasized that he hopes that he can turn his good form with the Tuscan club this season into a further step in his career to a bigger club.
Pinamonti has enjoyed his best season yet as a professional on loan with newly-promoted Empoli, establishing himself as a goalscorer for the first time in the Italian top flight.
A reunion with coach Aurelio Andreazzoli who he worked with at Genoa previously has helped the striker take his game to the next level.
Right now, Pinamonti is happy with where he is and hopes to keep growing and finding success in Tuscany, but moving forward he would like a return to the Nerazzurri, or a move to another higher-status club to compete for trophies.
He called the loan move to Empoli “The best decision I’ve made in recent years, I’m enjoying myself here, it’s a club where you work hard. The results are there to see, not only on a personal level but also as a team.”
Asked whether he’d like to return to Inter, the striker said that “Surely Empoli must be a springboard, but I think I will finish this season well and then aim for more important clubs from the next one onwards.”
Pinamonti also gave his thoughts on the Serie A title race, stating that “This season is one of the most balanced in recent seasons.”
“Maybe I’m biased, but I think that Inter are the best-equipped to win,” he added, “though the fact remains that Milan and Napoli will fight to the end to make life more difficult for them.”
