This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the trio are ahead in the coach’s thinking for his three major selection dilemmas for the Champions League round of sixteen clash.
In defense, Bastoni looks set to return as he has made a recovery from his ankle injury, and the coach is likely to prefer him over Federico Dimarco as he will want to play his strongest possible team.
And in midfielder, Arturo Vidal is ahead of Roberto Gagliardini in the coach’s thinking about which player should replace the suspended Nicolo Barella in the lineup.
Lastly, in attack the coach has his closest decision to make, but according to the Corriere it is Martinez who is ahead of Alexis Sanchez alongside Edin Dzeko up front.
