Ivan Perisic could prove to be the key player in unsettling Liverpool’s defense and giving his team balance when Inter face the Reds in the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who note that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi sees the Croat as key to counteract the influence of Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Perisic has been one of Inter’s standout players this season, having seemed to hit his very best form after the experiences of the treble with Bayern and then last season’s Scudetto triumph.

The 33-year-old has the energy to cover his entire flank, while his ability to take on a man and use both feet as well as the quality of his deliveries and decision-making make him a huge attacking threat still.

The Gazzetta suggest that Inzaghi will want to utilized Perisic in a very attacking way as much as he can, to attempt to force Alexander-Arnold back and negate his influence as much as possible.
