Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia popped up with one of the most important goals of his career as he was the unlikely scorer of an acrobatic volley to equalize late on against Empoli in the Coppa Italia.

The goal sent the match into extra time, in which the Nerazzurri found a winner to progress into the quarter-finals, and they now find themselves in the semi-finals.

Even if the circumstances hadn’t been so dramatic it would have been a great strike though, and the club named it on their Twitter account as the goal of the month for January.
