Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that the Nerazzurri must not become distracted or bogged down ahead of their Champions League round of sixteen clash with Liverpool tomorrow.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the coach emphasized the importance of concentration and mental clarity, while he also praised the form of all three of his current main strikers.

The Nerazzurri will know that they face a tough opponent in the form of Liverpool, but they will have to put their worries behind them and only focus on being at their best.

Inzaghi made a key point of saying this, stating that “The team will have to take the pitch with clear heads because, most likely, an opponent like this in the round of sixteen can put you under pressure which you can’t allow to take over.”

“We will have to be as good at managing the ball as always,” he added, “knowing that we are facing the team who are, in my opinion, the strongest in Europe at the moment, they are in excellent form and have all their players available.”

“As for the attackers, with Correa’s injury there is Caicedo who has recently arrived and is working to get to the same level as the others and regain his form,” he went on.

“The other three forwards that I have available have all proved themselves to be doing well,” he continued.

“Dzeko comes off the back of his goal in Naples, Sanchez scored against Roma, and Lautaro had a great match against Napoli. He was a key part of the team and played well.”
