Inter face a financial disparity compared to their Champions League opponents, and this is reflected in the respective values of the two team’s squads.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who note that the Nerazzurri’s total squad value is €340 million below that of the Reds.
The Nerazzurri saw significant outgoings in the summer in the form of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, sold because they were two of the players in the squad with the highest valuations.
Even though the outgoings were replaced, as was Christian Eriksen, the Nerazzurri had to do so within budgetary limitations.
As a result, the Nerazzurri’s squad currently weighs in at a total value of around €550 million, whilst their Champions League opponents can boast a squad worth around €890 million.
Inter will be hoping that in spite of this disparity, the players they have available can show their quality over the two-legged tie to get the better of their English opponents.
