If Inter were to secure progression to the quarter-finals of the Champions League by eliminating Liverpool, then they would earn at least €10.6 million for their continued participation.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who detail the amount that the Nerazzurri could earn in prizes should they managed to get past Liverpool in the round of sixteen.
Inter have already gotten to the knockout stages of Europe’s top competition for the first time in a decade, but their journey could well continue, and would also guarantee them further prize money.
Participation in the last eight of the competition guarantees a team €10.6 million from UEFA this season, and even more could be earned should the team go even further than that.
The Nerazzurri will know that getting past Premier League giants Liverpool is one of their formidable challenges of the season especially as they also keep up the fight on the domestic front, but if they manage it then they will be rewarded financially.
