Italian journalist Paolo Condo has said that Inter put in their best performance of the season but there is clearly something missing from the team, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport last night, via FCInter1908, Paolo Condo explained that Inter were up to the task of playing against Liverpool but were just missing the goal that their play deserved given it was their best performance of the season.

“Inter were up to the situation, they just missed the goal. They lost undeservedly, for many of the players and collectively, they played the best game of the season.”

On a more ominous point, Paolo Condo explained that if Inter plays well for 70 minutes and then loses 2-0, there is clearly something missing that stops them from becoming an elite team.

“Inter needs to understand that if they play a great match for 70 minutes and then lose 2-0, it is a sign that something is missing.”

Inter have been criticised all season for their wasteful nature in front of goal, despite being a team that scores a huge amount of goals.

This was the case again against Liverpool on Wednesday night as they failed to make their good performance count for anything.
