Lazio defender Luiz Felipe has agreed to join the Spanish side Real Betis on a free transfer rather than wait for an offer from Inter, according to a report in the Spanish media.

As has been reported in Spain by AS, the Brazilian defender has decided to leave Lazio when his contract expires at the end of this current season.

Inter have been linked with the defender as he would be a cheap option to add some more depth to Simone Inzaghi’s defence. The pair also already have a working relationship from when Simone Inzaghi coached Lazio.

The wages that the player wanted though put Inter off for the time being although it was not ruled out that they would move for him again.

That now is unlikely to happen as he looks destined to join Mauricio Pellegrini’s Real Betis side on a four-year contract where he will likely be an important player.
