Inter forward Felipe Caicedo has opened up about his feelings when he joined Inter in the January transfer window, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking to the matchday programme ahead of the Inter vs Sassuolo match, via FCInternews, the Ecuadorian forward who has joined on loan from Genoa until the end of the season said it was wonderful when he first arrived at the club.

When I arrived at Inter it was wonderful, I have wonderful memories of my first day here with my new teammates. Everything was perfect, even seeing the coach and Correa again.”

Talking about his playing style and what he can bring to the team, Felipe Caicedo said that his main characteristic is that he plays for the good of the team rather than for himself.

One of my characteristics is that I play for the team, I think first of all about the group, I try to be available and to score when needed.

“I like playing with my back to goal like this. I can do the work for my teammates, develop the game and finish in the best possible way.”

It is a proud moment for any striker to join Inter given the quality of forwards that have played for the club in the past. For Felipe Caicedo, his mind goes straight to picturing Brazilian duo Adriano and Ronaldo when they were at Inter.

I grew up with Adriano and Ronaldo the Phenomenon, they were incredible players and have remained my reference point.”
