Lautaro Martinez’s goal-scoring figures are actually in line with his previous seasons at the club, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been highlighted by Tuttosport today, the Argentine forward has not found the back of the net from open play for Inter since December 17. Between then and now, he has scored a penalty in the Supercoppa Italiana and scored twice for Argentina.
He has come in for plenty of criticism this week but his figures for this season are actually very similar to those in his previous years at the club.
He currently has 12 goals in 32 games this season. Last year he ended with 19 in 48 games. In his first season at the club he ended the campaign with 21 goals in 49 games.
The Argentine is hoping that he can break his duck against Sassuolo on Sunday and he looks set to start that game alongside Alexis Sanchez.
