Inter President Steven Zhang has played an important role in the Nerazzurri’s growth and modernization in recent years.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight the importance of the club President’s vision to the Nerazzurri’s forward momentum on the pitch as well as off it.
Zhang is currently in Milan, and plans to remain until at least the second leg of their Champions League round of sixteen tie against Liverpool.
The President has been busy attending to a number of important pieces of business for the club during his time in Italy, not least getting the contract renewals of Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio, and Dario Baccin wrapped up.
CEO Marotta in particular has become a point of reference to the sporting operations of the Nerazzurri, and the President has signalled that there is harmony between the owners and the CEO in the running of the project.
Meanwhile, apart from improving Inter’s fortunes on the sporting side alongside Marotta, Zhang has also done significant work in trying to grow the Nerazzurri’s brand.
Under the current President, the Nerazzurri have rarely missed an opportunity to associate themselves with cutting-edge fashion and technology brands, and have also earned important revenues through these partnerships.
As important as his and Marotta’s vision for the team on the pitch is Zhang’s long-term vision of growing Inter as a truly global brand, and the President’s work has been vital to making this a reality.
