Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin feels that Inter made the same mistake their city rivals AC Milan did yesterday when they lost to Sassuolo this evening in Serie A.

Tweeting after the Nerazzurri’s loss, Biasin compared the result to the Rossoneri’s draw away to Salernitana, and suggested that the teams had just expected to win rather than fighting for the results.

The Rossoneri were shocked to drop points against bottom-of-the-table Salernitana yesterday, and their 2-2 draw meant that the Nerazzurri had an opportunity to reclaim top spot in the table with a win over Sassuolo.

However, Inter suffered an even worse result than their city rivals, having been caught cold in the first half before labouring in front of goal in the second to lose against the Nerazzurri.

In the view of Biasin, both teams failed to treat these matches with the importance that they merit, and their Scudetto hopes suffered as a result.

“Inter looked immature, tired, took to the pitch with an air of arrogance and were rightly punished by an excellent Sassuolo,” he tweeted. “Serie A titles don’t just rain from the sky. Nobody acquitted themselves well today.”

He added that “Inter and Milan both made the same mistake: that of thinking that the other team will just lay down for you because you’re Inter or Milan.”
