Inter have the chance to take back top spot in the Serie A table from city rivals AC Milan should they beat Sassuolo this evening, after the Rossoneri stumbled against Salernitana yesterday.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who note the important opportunity of the Rossoneri’s dropped points but also the difficulty of the fixture for the Nerazzurri.

Milan were the big favourites in their trip to Salerno to face bottom-of-the-table Salernitana, but after going ahead early they found themselves 2-1 down late in the match and only managed to salvage an equalizer from the match.

Now, after the Rossoneri had gone ahead of Inter just last weekend following the Nerazzurri’s draw away to Napoli, the Nerazzurri can snatch the lead right back.

Inter can get to a point ahead of their city rivals, with a game in hand as well, should they beat Sassuolo this evening at the San Siro.

The Neroverdi are by no means an easy opponent, having taken several major scalps already this season, but if Inter can beat them then they can firm up their grasp on the title charge.
