Legendary former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi feels that even though Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is a high quality, he’s yet to fully polish his game.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Tacchinardi emphasized the need for the Nerazzurri striker to grow and take the final step to becoming a top player.

Martinez has continued to be an important player for Inter in attack this season, starting regularly and enjoying patches of good form in front of goal.

However, the Argentine has also had some barren scoring spells, and is currently in the midst of one of his most protracted ones of the campaign and of his time with the Nerazzurri.

For Tacchinardi, there is no doubting the 24-year-old’s quality, but he must search for more consistency and take another step forward in quality.

“For me he’s an excellent player,” he said, “but now he has to take the decisive last step. He has to get past certain difficulties in order to complete his growth.”
