Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi is proud of his team’s performance in their 2-0 win against Inter in Serie A this evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the 27-year-old hailed his team’s defensive performance in particular to see out a massive win at the San Siro, a result which was certainly also damaging for the Nerazzurri.

The Neroverdi started the more clinical and proactive of the two sides at the San Siro, seizing on a sluggish Inter team’s errors in possession to carve out a number of good chances to score.

Within ten minutes, the away side had gone 1-0 up, and before a half hour had gone they had doubled their advantage.

During the second half, the Nerazzurri pushed for a goal back, but the Neroverdi defended well to keep them out and also continued to create chances in a result that they deserved based on their performance.

“It was important to show up here and have a great match,” he said, “we won 2-0 without conceding a goal, something that hadn’t happened for a long time. It was a great match also from a defensive point of view.”

The 27-year-old also talked about his teammates Gianluca Scamacca and Giacomo Raspadori, both of whom have been linked with moves to Inter, and both of whom got on the scoresheet.

“They’re two great players, they’re ready to make the leap up in quality,” he said of the pair.
