Inter are in a difficult moment of form, but the team plan to pick themselves up and immediately start looking to the future by securing important contract renewals.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri aim to go full speed ahead on building for the future as they aim to get back to form on the pitch.
The importance of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic to the team was underlined by their disappointing loss to Sassuolo where he was suspended, and the club are close to renewing the Croat’s contract officially.
A new deal for Brozovic should arrive in the next day or two, and the club will have gotten one of their major priorities wrapped up by having him commit his future despite interest from a number of top clubs.
Meanwhile, contract talks with Ivan Perisic are also getting more advanced, and the Nerazzurri are at the table to try and get a deal done with him.
The 33-year-olf is still considering whether more significant offers will arrive from the Bundesliga or the Premier League, and aims for a three-year deal worth €6 million net per season.
However, it appears increasingly likely that the player will come to an agreement with the Nerazzurri, and that it will be found at around €5 million net per season.
Apart from these two key renewals, the club are also beginning to bring their summer transfer business into clearer focus.
Stefan de Vrij could be allowed to leave for the right offer should a contract extension not be agreed past the end of June 2023, and the likes of Alexis Sanchez or even more sensationally Lautaro Martinez could be on their way.
In terms of incomings, the Nerazurri continue to target the likes of Davide Frattesi and Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, but not just these two.
Inter are seriously tracking Juventus’s Paulo Dybala and Lille’s Jonathan David among their other transfer targets for June.
The Nerazzurri do not want to get bogged down in a moment of bad form, and will try and build the team to be even stronger over the coming weeks.
