Inter are considering trying to sign a player with the right profile to back up Marcelo Brozovic in the team.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who list five players on the Nerazzurri’s radar who could have the right profile to deputize for the Croat in the squad.

The importance of Brozovic in the team was dramatically underlined by how Inter were overrun in midfield during Sunday’s Serie A loss to Sassuolo, with Nicolo Barella not really able to replicate his contributions.

As such, the Nerazzurri could aim to bring in a player to back up the 29-year-old, with Hoffenheim’s Florian Grillitsch, Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes, Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka, Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, and Sporting CP’s Joao Palhinha among their potential targets.

Grillitsch is out of contract in the summer, with Roma and AC Milan among his suitors, whilst Paredes sees his deal with PSG run out at the end of June 2023 and has been linked with Inter in the past.

Meanwhile, Xhaka sees his contract in London expire at the end of June 2024, and the likes of Amrabat and Palhinha could likely be signed from their current clubs for the right offer.
