Legendary former AC Milan head coach Arrigo Sacchi feels that Inter are still the Serie A title favourites thanks to the quality and experience of their squad.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the coach emphasized the Nerazzurri’s players and their balance of technical ability and experience as giving them the edge.

Inter find themselves in a very open and tight race for the Scudetto, just two points behind AC Milan and level with Napoli, but with a game in hand on both of their major rivals.

Given how far the teams have already come, it is clear that none of them can be counted out and all three have what it takes to see out the rest of the season and win the title in the run-in, though Sacchi still gives the decisive edge to Inter.

“The fight for the Scudetto, which is very exciting, involves three teams in particular,” he said, “Inter, Napoli, and Milan.”

He went on that “Looking at Inter’s squad, however, and considering the experience of the players, I think they are the best-equipped team to win the Scudetto.”
