Inter Defender Federico Dimarco: “We Stumbled Against Sassuolo But We Must Respond Immediately”

Inter defender Federico Dimarco is aware that the team experienced a damaging blow by losing to Sassuolo over the weekend, but also feels that there’s no time to waste putting the misstep behind them.
Speaking in a TikTok Q&A, as reported by FCInter1908, the 24-year-old stressed quickly getting back on track after the stinging defeat at the hands of the Neroverdi.
Inter had the opportunity to reassert themselves after some recent dropped points and defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League by beating Sassuolo.
Instead, the team were overrun in the first half and then toothless in the second to fall to their third Serie A defeat of the season and their second in February.
The result will come as a significant psychological blow to the players as well as the fans, but Dimarco understands that it cannot be something that they dwell on with a number of important matches to come.
“Rest assured, we know we stumbled in Sunday’s match,” he said. “From today onwards we will prepare as best we can for Friday, and for all the games between now and the end of the season.”
On representing Inter, he said that “For me it means a lot, this is the team I grew up with, I’ve always had them in my heart. It’s a dream come true to play for this shirt.”
On the highlights of his first season in the Nerazzurri senior team so far, he named “My first goal in an Inter shirt, and our 120th minute winner in the Supercoppa Italiana against Juve.”
On his idols, Dimarco stated that “I looked up to a lot of players. Many world-class players have played for Inter.”
And on his goals for the season, the 24-year-old said that “I prefer the goals of the team, I’d like to reach Inter’s goal which is to win.”
