Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku wants to return to Inter as soon as he can after his disappointing campaign with the Premier League side so far, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Belgian forward had already made a slow start to his time at Chelsea due to injuries, but his Sky Sport interview in January dampened his popularity at the club.

Messages have reportedly been coming from Romelu Lukaku’s camp to Inter that essentially put the ball in Inter’s court. He wants to make the move, Inter have to make it happen.

He was on the bench for the entire Champions League Round of 16 first leg match against Lille on Tuesday night and he is getting more and more nostalgic about his time at Inter.

The Nerazzurri are not in a position to pay him anywhere near what he is currently earning since he left Inter for Chelsea at the end of the most recent summer transfer window.
