Former Brescia manager Pep Clotet has said that Simone Inzaghi’s way of playing football intrigues him, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish coach was discussing the performance of Inter and Juventus in the Champions League Round of 16 so far.

Inter played their first leg against Liverpool last weekend and despite impression for much of the game, ended up losing 2-0 thanks to two goals in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Pep Clotet said he was intrigued by Simone Inzaghi as he can make his team play at any pace, but admitted that the English teams have an advantage right now.

“Inzaghi’s team plays football that intrigues me a lot because he knows how to play at any pace, but against the English, as we have seen, they have an advantage.”

On Juventus, Pep Clotet seemed to be very optimistic about their chances in the tournament despite only managing to draw 1-1 with Villareal in their first leg in Spain.

“The Bianconeri will be able to progress, they have strength and experience.”

Inter’s chances of progression to the quarter-finals are now very low.
