Former Fiorentina left back Manuel Pasqual has said that Inter are the strongest team in the Serie A title race and will win the Scudetto, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio, Manuel Pasqual explained that Inter are experiencing the normal ups and downs that happen with a season after they lost 2-0 to Sassuolo at San Siro last weekend.

“For me they are the strongest and most suitable team to go and win the Scudetto. In a season, ups and downs happen, Sassuolo put anyone in difficulty, especially those who play openly.”

Inter were expected to win that game against the Neroverdi comfortably but with Edin Dzeko in need of a rest and Alessandro Bastoni and Marcelo Brozovic both suspended, they struggled to keep Sassuolo’s talented attackers out.

The goals were scored by Italian duo Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca.

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has not been in good form lately and Manuel Pasqual feels that he needs to score a goal in order to keep himself and everyone else calm.

“The attacker lives for the goal and Lautaro is not going through a simple moment: some criticisms have arisen because Sanchez did well every time he entered and asked for space. To understand how long Inzaghi will keep Lautaro’s position firm on the pitch, he would need a goal to be calm.”
