Genoa coach Alexander Blessin has said that Inter played very well against Liverpool in the Champions League and that the result did not reflect the contest, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during his press conference ahead of Inter’s match against Genoa on Friday night, via FCInternews, Alexander Blessin showed that he was impressed by the way the Nerazzurri played in the Champions League defeat against Liverpool.

“I saw the game and Inter played very well. The result does not match the progress of the game. We have seen the qualities of Inter.”

In terms of the game on Friday evening, the new Genoa coach said that it is a pleasure to play against a team with the quality of Inter.

“It is a pleasure to play tomorrow against a great team like Inter. It is a good feeling to play against a really strong team.”

Despite the fact that Inter lost their last Serie A match 2-0 against Sassuolo, Alexander Blessin does not think that will work to Genoa’s advantage.

“Inter lost their last game in the league and it won’t be easy. They will want to win and this is definitely not an advantage when you meet such a team in that situation. Inter will have possession of the ball, they have individuality, so it will be important to be aggressive and to put them in difficulty. They have a lot of quality.”

Alexander Blessin feels that the way for his team to get any success against Inter at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris is to be brave and not be scared of making mistakes.

“It is a team that defends very high and puts you in difficulty immediately with a high press. They do it in the best possible way.

“Against a team like this you have to play where they will allow it, pay attention to details and do everything on the pitch with aggression. That’s what I want from the boys. To be brave and not be afraid to make mistakes.”
