Udinese Striker Beto: “I Was Inspired By Samuel Eto’o, I Think Inter Will Win The Scudetto”

Udinese striker Beto has said that he was inspired by Samuel Eto’o and he thinks that Inter will win the Scudetto this season, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.

Speaking during an interview with Sportitalia, via FCInter1908, the Portuguese striker who has been in very impressive form for the Friulians this season discussed some of his influences growing up.

He named three strikers that he was inspired by but stressed that he did not try to be like them, he tried to play his own game and see what he could do. One of those players was Inter’s former Cameroonian striker, Samuel Eto’o.

“I was inspired by Samuel Eto’o, Drogba, Henry, but I didn’t want to be them, I liked how they played, I wanted to be Beto.”

Beto also discussed the ongoing Serie A title race which is set to go down to the wire and is the closest in Europe’s top leagues.

He feels that Inter will eventually prevail but AC Milan do have what it takes to lift the title in May.

“I think Inter will win it, but AC Milan could win it too, they want it and they can play badly but also win. This makes them earn points.”
