Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio voiced his frustrations after the Nerazzurri were held to a goalless draw by Genoa in Serie A on Friday.

The Nerazzurri missed the chance to move level with AC Milan at the top of Serie A as they failed to break through a resolute Grifone defence at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, extending their winless run to four games in the league.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, praised Genoa but admitted that the single point picked up had felt like a defeat, especially after last weekend’s loss to Sassuolo.

“We knew it would be difficult, Genoa changed their way of playing by remaining aggressive for 90 minutes. We dominated the match but we didn’t take advantage of the chances created,” the defender declared.

“Regardless of the results of the other teams, we try to win on the pitch and always go into matches with this mentality.

“After the defeat against Sassuolo we wanted to win and we did not succeed, it is normal to feel that the draw is like a defeat. We must stay focused, and we know we have to work hard and keep our heads up,” he added.

The draw comes off the back of defeats to Sassuolo and Milan, as well as a single point gained against Napoli, as Inter continue to struggle for goals.
