Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is looking to avoid dropping more points when the Nerazzurri take on Genoa in Serie A this evening.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Inter are enduring a difficult spell after losing their last two home games, against AC Milan and Sassuolo, whilst struggling to a 1-1 draw against Napoli in between.

It was the first time the Nerazzurri have failed to win in three games under Inzaghi, whilst the club have not endured such a barren stretch since January 2020.

Depending on Milan’s result against Bologna earlier in the day, Inter can go top with victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and the relegation-battling Genoa are considered a good opponent to turn their form around.

Facing Genoa is also thought to be of significance for Inzaghi, as he made his debut as Inter coach against the Grifone and led the champions to a comprehensive 4-0 victory in August, showcasing the sparkling football of the first half of the season.
