Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has an almost full-strength squad to select from when his side visit Genoa this evening, but the game has come too soon for Joaquin Correa.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Argentina international Correa has not travelled with the squad to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as he enters the final stages of his recovery.

The summer signing from Lazio sustained a thigh strain during Inter’s 3-2 win over Empoli in the Coppa Italia on 19 January and left the pitch in tears, although the injury was not as severe as initially feared.

Whilst he will be unavailable for the clash against relegation-battling Genoa, Inter are optimistic that Correa will play some part in Tuesday’s Coppa Italia match against AC Milan.

The Derby della Madonnina game could also see January arrival Robin Gosens make his debut for the club following his switch from Atalanta, as he nurses a long-term injury sustained in September.

Gosens is the only other unavailable player for the match against Genoa but is close to a return to action.
